Week 15: Area Contest

So, after partially recovering from the shock of losing district, we decided it would be a good idea to check out the competition. This is a depiction of the play we competed against: their play was The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and ended up winning the whole thing in our category, if that tells you anything. (It should.) I thought they were amazing. The other cast? Not as much. There were a lot of interesting plays (we sat through 6 for this round), and I enjoyed most of them, and it was a good experience to figure out what works and doesn't from an audience member's perspective.
It took me forever to figure out the lighting with the background on this, and I eventually resorted to using transparencies, which I try not to with pixels, and I think it was really nice. One of the most striking aspects of their preformance was (aside from the amazing acting and costumes) the vivid use of color, light, and shadow.
Oh, and that purple guy isn't me. BTW.
